Writing the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC):

The objective of this letter writing project is to emphasize the need for an IBD Stamp directly to the Stamps Committee by explaining your experience with IBD as a family member or friend of one who has IBD. There are no limitations, restrictions, or expectations with this project. Let your mind roll the thoughts onto your computer, and simply type. Having a family member or friend write a letter to the Committee will enable them to understand the family and social aspects of this disease.

FYI: CSAC is the Committee which officially serves the US Postal Service. This specific Committee makes all of the stamp authorizations for the Postal Service.

Some writing tips:

• Including IBD Facts will definitely give your letter more force.
• If you are family member, you may wish to explain not only what the person in the family went through with IBD, but how it impacted you and the rest of the family as well.
• If you're a close friend of someone with IBD, you may opt to write about what you see them go through, and how it impacts your friendship, etc.
• It would be great to mention whether or not you knew what IBD was before your family member or friend got diagnosed, and how much you know today. You can also express further views on the awareness deficit of IBD.
• Awareness for a debilitating conditions such as Crohn's and Colitis should rank at the top of the Committee's priorities due to the life-threatening factors involved. You can express why you think a postage stamp for IBD should rank at the top of the list.
