After one full year of planning and sweat-shedding construction, the ibdcure.org website has officially launched!

Its website features:

The website and it's Action Center has been constantly tested over and over again. We've received continuous feedback over the past two days, and we want to hear from you! If you have any comments or bugs to report in our site, simply email: webmaster@ibdcure.org.

Our Guarantee:

While our site does contain high-caliber information and extensive graphic design, we cannot guarantee you that the pages will load extremely fast, or even that you won't find a broken link. However, our website does contain a state-of-the-art navigational system. Wherever you are in the website, at all times, you will not get lost. That's our guarantee.

This Month's Featured Section:

The Special Recognition Section After so many weeks of endless Campaigning, it's time to give credit to the ones who deserve it most. The IBD Stamp Campaign honors every individual, business, and organization mentioned in our Special Recognition Section. The Special Recognition Section is a place which honors those who went the extra mile. From data recovery to media coverage, it is clearly safe to say that the IBD Stamp Campaign would've not gotten to this point had it not been for every bit of support from these individuals. An endless amount gratitude goes out the people mentioned in our Special Recognition Section.

1,594 Signatures Are Sent to CSAC:

May 2001: Nearly 1,600 signatures were bound and sent to the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC). This is the first batch of signatures that have been sent. Four hundred additional signatures have also been collected but not yet sent to the Stamps Committee. Terrence W. McCaffrey of Stamp Development replied to the package on June 13 and thanked the Campaign for the signatures. He went on to explain that the 2003 stamp program is currently under consideration by the Stamps Committee.

Furthermore, the IBD Stamp is still being considered and we need urgent help! All you have to do is send one or two other people to the website to have them sign the proposal!

E-news Hits the Half-thousand Mark:

The IBD Stamp Campaign is emphatically excited to report that our enews list surpassed the 500 mark. We welcome all of our newcomers, and thank you for subscribing. With your help, this stamp will undoubtedly be passed.

Gideon Wins $10,000 Community Service Scholarship:

May 2001: Gideon Sofer was nominated by a very close friend of his, Alex Snyder, to win a $10,000 scholarship. Z100 Radio & VERIZON Communications teamed up to give one grand prize scholarship to one person who is working to make the world a better place. After reviewing thousands of applications, Z100 & VERIZON chose Gideon as the final winner for his efforts to conquer Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

On the Medical Front: In the Labs

A breakthrough has been made in IBD Research. Scientist have the latest information pointing to a genetic complication causing the condition. This is the first solid evidence to start to prove the genetic theory, or ANY theory of the cause of Crohn's.

Looking Ahead:

Over the next few months, Gideon and the Campaign will be filing for nonprofit status and introducing US Congressional legislation to urge the approval of the IBD Stamp. Gideon will be working with Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. to write a "Dear Colleague" letter as well as writing the legislation. Your help will be needed to urge your Congressman and Senators to support and approve the future legislation.

the journey has just begun. The amount of support expressed so far has been highly unanticipated, and we are so grateful for it.
