...message from Gideon
Dear Supporters,
Just 10 days after our net debut, ibdcure.org & the IBD Stamp Campaign has gathered outstanding support from people across the universe. I personally couldn't have been more pleased with they way our website has turned out, the patience from every supporter while I worked hard on completing it, and the results that are starting to pile in.
Vital Statistics:
It is a definite understatement to just say that we are getting helping hands from people across the US & the universe. We are being absolutely BOMBARDED with interest from people with IBD, UC, CD/Families and friends of people with IBD/ and even supporters who are new to IBD.
Across the nation, support has been hauled in from: Babylon, New York to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Los Gatos, California to Sugar Land, Texas.
Around the universe, enthusiasm has been expressed from: Vienna, Austria to Holon, Israel to Gothenburgh, Sweden. On a daily basis, we are experiencing anywhere from 200-300 hits per day.
Over 200 people have signed our proposal since our website launch.
...But It's Not Just About the Numbers:
When makes me the most excited about all of this news is not the fact that the Campaign's website is getting 184 hits per day. It's the fact that one hundred eighty-four NEW people are learning about IBD everyday. Many people with IBD have expressed their opinions that it's time for IBD to stop being put on the backburner. I am proud to say that it is finally moving into the forefront.
Action Center Updates:
During the first 24 hours of our launch, if you were using a Netscape Browser, it may have been impossible to sign our proposal. This bug has been completely fixed and the signature form has been re-tested numerous times. Our e-signature form is located @ http://www.ibdcure.org/ac/esig.html
Our e-mail action page has been overhauled. We were previously asking people to copy & paste a pre-written message into their email applications. Those days are over: We have provided an automatic form for you to enter email addresses of people you want to inform of the IBD Stamp Campaign instantly. To quickly send out a message to everyone you know, if you haven't done so already, visit: http://www.ibdcure.org/ac/email.html.
Another major update was uploaded to our site. Each page of our site contains a "BE SURE TO TAKE ACTION" message. The reason for this is we're trying to increase the visitor/signature ratio at our website. If you are on this email list, and you HAVE NOT yet signed the stamp proposal simply visit: http://www.ibdcure.org/ac/esig.html to do so.
E-news Update:
In our last message, we had a severe problem with a virus by the name of ÒSNOW WHITEÓ bouncing back to our list. We've had only two people come forward with information regarding the virus. We ask that a) Don't open any email in which you do not know the sender & b) If you've had the virus on your computer anytime in the last 6 months, we ask you to simply email enews@ibdcure.org to tell us so we can de-bug our list completely.
Finally, I'd just like to say that the support, comments, and everything else from every single person has been beyond encouraging, and I cannot thank you enough. This summer will be an exciting one, as the US Legislation will be written and introduced in the very near future! I hope that you will stay informed with our latest progress by frequently visiting our site. If you have signed the email signature, and have asked how else you can help, simply SPREAD THE WORD by mouth, email, Starterkits, etc. [All info is located @ our Action Center: http://www.ibdcure.org/ac/ ] The more people get involved by educating themselves, signing the stamp proposal, downloading Starterkits, and sending out email forwards, the closer we will be to conquering this devastating disease.
